To All IEEE Kansas City Section Members,

On 18 August 2005, during the monthly Kansas City Section meeting hosted by the Computer Society Chapter the 2006 Slate of Officers for the Kansas City Section was announced and is provided below:

Kansas City Section Chair - Ken Vollmar
- Currently the KC Section 2nd V-Chair and Southwest Missouri Subsection Chair

Kansas City Section 1st V-Chair - Dick Hodgman
- Currently the KC Section 1st V-Chair and Consultants Network Affinity Group V-Chair and Treasurer

Kansas City Section 2nd V-Chair - Duane Highley
- Currently the Southwest Missouri Subsection V-Chair

Kansas City Section Treasurer - Imran Pishori
- Currently the Kansas City Section Treasurer (Imran Volunteered for and accepted by KC Section EXCOM to replace Taimur Ellahi, who moved to Boston- Aug 05)

Kansas City Section Secretary – Kirk Duncan
- Currently the Power Engineering Society Chair (Kirk moved up from V-Chair to Chair when Taimur Ellahi moved to Boston)

Kansas City Section Junior Past Chair – Bill Ritter
- Currently the Kansas City Section Chair

Kansas City Section Chairman Emeritus – Dale Rummer
- Honor Granted by previous Kansas City Section EXCOM

Southwest Missouri Subsection (Springfield, MO) Chair - Duane Highley

IEEE Kansas City Section Nomination Process and where we are in that process.

- Start Call for Nominations 120 days prior to election
- 20 Apr 05 for 20 Oct 05 election

- Deadline for submission of names for the slate is 90 days prior to election
- 21 Jul 05 for 20 Oct 05 election

- Announce slate to membership 60 days prior to Election
- 20 Aug for 20 Oct 05 election – This was done on 18 Aug 05 and is being followed up by this announcement to all IEEE Kansas City Section members.

- Process for Petition Candidates
- Announcement of slate must also include call for petition candidates – This was done on 18 Aug 05
- Petition must be signed by 10 or more members of the Section’s voting membership
- Petition must be submitted to Dick Hodgman dick@hodgman.org , Nomination Chair at least 30 days prior to election - 9 Sep for 20 Oct 05 election

- Election
- Final slate of officers for 2006 will be
- E-Mailed to every valid member IEEE address 14-21 days prior to the 20 Oct 05 election
- Will be posted on the KC Section Website at http://www.ieee-kc.org/ 14-21 days prior to the 20 Oct 05 election

- Web-based balloting acceptable, but
- Need to verify that only eligible members are voting

- Voting and Ballot Return Deadline
- Voting and Balloting
- If only one candidate is on the slate, a vote will be held at the Oct General Meeting on 20 Oct 05
- If more than one candidate is listed for a position, Web-based balloting is Acceptable
- Web-based balloting will be available 7 days after the Oct General meeting and balloting will close 21 days after the Oct General Meeting
