Section Executive Committee

The Section Executive Committee shall consist of members as specified in the Section Bylaws,

typically:

Elected officers
Junior past Chair
Chapter Chairs
Subsection Chairs

Function:

Responsible for assuring that Section operation is in accordance with IEEE and Section bylaws, advises on policies and plans and provides support to the Chair.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Establishes policies, plans and goals.
2. Advises on Section operating plan and schedule of activities.
3. Approves Section bylaws.
4. Fills vacancies in offices between annual elections.
5. Identifies talented volunteers.
6. Advises on committee chair appointments.
7. Advises on annual budget and disbursement of funds.
8. Approves annual audit.
9. Approves nominations for awards.
10. Approves nominations for job vacancies.
11. Approves conference plans.
12. Maintains permanent records of Section activities.

Authority:

The Executive Committee adopts the policies and plans of the Section and supports the Section Chair in the operation of the Section.

Relationship:

Functions under the direction of the Section Chair.

Meetings:

Typically held at the discretion of the Section Chair.
