* opinion: poor technical conference
* moderators not well-organized
* decide on some “tracks” for the conference
* MOU issue for 2008 conference:
o Normally profit sharing is region 60%, section 40%
o Proposed: region 60%, section 20%, UMKC student section 20%
o Bill to put a draft of MOU on community web page
o EXCOM members should expect to vote on its approval
o Dr. Ghulam Chaudry to be added to EXCOM and informational mailing lists

EXCOMs on location – schedule and location 2 or 3 a year. Have not had any “location” EXCOMs yet this year.

Strategic plan and budget
* intent is to circulate draft, vote at May EXCOM
* 2004 documents are posted on community

Dave Kasper
Number of IEEE members for JEC membership assessment
Use of JEC calendar and publicity

Ghulam Chaudry: report on R5 Technical conference, Apr. 7-8. Lessons learned:
* Separation of student competition from main conference was unfortunate
* Technical part of the conference is the revenue generator and should be increased
* Title of conference: can it be changed? Use a different title for more attendance.
* Student paper contest: was not organized under technical session but perhaps should be

Dave Kasper solicited input for topic of PACE mtg. for Dec. 2006
* RFID, relationship to music
