Meeting Minutes for EXCOM meeting, 12/7/00

1125 to 1129: Met in lobby
1130 to 1215: Ate
Lunch at First Watch. Late meeting start due to a busy lunch crowd.
1215: Call for quorum
Quorum present. Reference attendees.
1216 to 1221: Introduction Of EXCOM 2001 Officers
Randy Smischny, Section Chair, Sprint Network Planning

1222 to 1228: Statement of 2001 Chair for 2001
Focus on member service, and cooperation with other area technical societies.
1229 to 1236: Section Budget
2000 Budget was reviewed in preparation for discussion at January meeting. Budget available for review on website.
1237 to 1241: Database demo
Mark Lamendola demonstrated the section membership database operation. Several queries are already built. For example: A query exists to search by Chapter Affiliation to allow Chapter Chairs to extract e-mail lists for their membership only. If additional queries are needed contact Mark.
1242 to 1242: Vote no newsletter for months with no meeting.
Jim Berard moved and Dale Rummer second "That the monthly paper newsletter would not be issued during months in which a section meeting was not scheduled." Motion approved by acclimation.
1243 to 1247: Discussion of IEEE National Reporting Requirements to Receive Rebate
Requirements are on Website.
1248 to 1250: Tabled Items
In the interest of time discussion of Awards Committee Chair, and Organization Officer to contact other organizations was deferred to a future meeting.
1251 to 1258: Overflow Time
Jim Berard moved and Randy Smischny second that Dale Rummer be extended permanent voting status as a voting member of the KC EXCOM due to Dr. Rummers active involvement and significant contributions to the KC Section. Motion carried by boisterous acclimation.
Dale Rummer moved and Randy Smischny second that Jim Berard be directed to reserve a table for the KC IEEE section at the KC National Engineers Week Luncheon the week of Feb. 18-24, 2001. Motion passed by acclimation.
Let the minutes also note that via the requirements of an e-mail vote the price for dinner has been raised to $18 from $17 to reflect a price increase at the Wyndham Gardens Hotel.
1259 to 1330: Set next date and adjourn
