Meeting Minutes for EXCOM meeting, 05OCT2000

1125 to 1129: Meet in lobby

1130 to 1215: Eat

Lunch at First Watch.

1215 to 1216: Call for quorum

Quorum present. Reference attendees.

1217 to 1224: Calendar program topics

Open Discussion of topics for 2001 calendar. Jim Leonard Region 5; H1B topic, possible presentation. Randy to follow up. Earl is finalizing plans for January PES Meeting Speaker.

1125 to 1234: Database demo

Mark Lamendola demonstrated the section membership database operation. Several queries are already built. For example: A query exists to search by Chapter Affiliation to allow Chapter Chairs to extract e-mail lists for their membership only. If additional queries are needed contact Mark.

1235 to 1247: Awards

Bill to follow up with Saad on award status. Jim Berard to research region 5 information on Section Awards. December meeting is when awards are presented. Suggestion was made that each Chapter consider presenting an award at each meeting to bolster membership involvement. Chapter Chairs responsible to follow up as they deem appropriate.

1248 to 1254: Q&A on Treasurer, Secretary reports

Minimal activity on the report front. Financial report is current. Jim to research reports submitted to date by all Chapters and report at next meeting.

1255 to 1258: Tabled items

* Bill moved that the Nov. 2000 EXCOM meeting be canceled. Earl seconded. Motion carried by acclimation.

* Bill moved that Don Wolf and Dr. Rummer be awarded Gateway Certificates at the December Meeting for their support of IEEE activities. Earl seconded. Motion carried by acclimation.

* Mark will contact the incoming officer nominees for treasurer and secretary to be present at the December Meeting.

1259 to 1330: Set next date and adjourn

Next meeting to be at 11:30AM on 12-7-00 at Sprint on SW Corner of Metcalf and 95th by Houstons.
