EMS
Programmer/Engineer
Experience working with the
infrastructure and software used in Electric Utility Energy Management
Systems (EMSs), including network architectures, operating systems and
application configuration. Experience with the cyber security practices and
requirements related to EMSs. Experience with data models (in particular
the industry standard Common Information Model) used in the Electric Utility
industry.

IP-based networks
Assist with infrastructure design
and configuration of product-based EMS currently being installed, by
providing EMS application level perspective. Understand cyber security
requirements to be met by EMS, assist with solution design and implement
application level functions and procedures to meet requirements. Assist
with design and implementation of interfaces to CIM Data Engineering Toolkit
(based on ESRI ArcGIS) which are intended to ensure EMS database
integrity. Assist as needed with checkout of real-time data and its
integration into EMS. Assist as needed with creation of EMS displays.

Display Technician
-
Competency with some or all of the
following technologies:
- PED500
- AutoCAD, Illustrator or other
graphic software packages (familiarity with multiple tools is a plus)
- Windows, Unix operating
systems
Responsibilities: Creation of EMS displays, including
one-line diagrams and point tabulars. Creation / review of work process or
training documentation. Assistance with checkout of real-time data and its
integration into EMS. Potential for doing a variety of other work,
depending on the person’s skill set, in support of the EMS team (routine
on-call activities, administrative duties, database compiles, data entry).

IEEE Computer Society Shirts
When the Computer Society made these shirts available for
purchase, it was on a pre-order basis. The Computer Society made it clear at
that time that the Society would be buying these shirts ahead of time. One of
the people who ordered shirts has refused to pay for them and does not reply to
voice mail or e-mail.
These shirts are 4XL. There is a blue one and a black one.

The School of Computing and Engineering's (SCE) Alumni Association invites
you to take advantage of one or more of the many sponsorship opportunities that

Send IEEE "The Institute" Your News
If you have information of interest to IEEE
members everywhere, please send that to
institute @ieee.org. The Institute is looking for
participants to interview for these story topics:
- Recent graduates or GOLD members have who have started their own
companies.
- Student members who formed lasting friendships with other students they
met at an IEEE student branch.
- Members who have "dirty" or even unusual engineering jobs, which might
include doing engineering for a subway/metro system, tunnel system,
something of that kind.
They are also looking for:
- Obituaries on members.
- Recognitions that members receive such as promotions, appointments,
awards, or honors from their community or government.
- Recognition that members receive from an IEEE Society, such as an award.
- Interesting jobs or hobbies for member profile pieces.
