And work with management to facilitate development of business plans. A
background in research, statistics, and economic forecasting of market trends is
necessary to be successful in this job as well as good communications and
presentation skills. Candidate should have an economics or related degree and

Electrical Engineer / PLC Programmer
Design control systems for industrial equipment, including
three phase and single phase AC circuits and DC control circuits. Understand,
analyze, and troubleshoot existing (and create new) PLC and human interface
display programs from a variety of controls manufacturers. Specify the
requirements of electrical components used in industrial equipment. Support
equipment such as Variable Frequency Drives and Data Acquisition systems.
Knowledge of national and international codes and standards (NEC, ISO, CSA, CE,
etc). Hands on experience in the use of electrical meters, instruments, and
tools. Three years experience. Lower Midwest Location. Must have BSEE or BSEET.

IEEE Computer Society KC Chapter Election
The 2009 Officer nomination slate is now posted at
http://www.ieee-kc.org/computer.
The election will be held at the September dinner meeting.
That is the third Thursday in September (the second Thursday is September 11, so
the CompSoc is holding its meeting the following week, instead). |

The IEEE Education Partners Program has joined with
LeaderPoint, a Kansas City-area company, to offer leadership and management
courses in Overland Park, Kansas. The simulation-based development sessions were

If you have information of interest to IEEE
members everywhere, please send that to
institute @ieee.org. The Institute is looking for
participants to interview for these story topics:
- Recent graduates or GOLD members have who have started their own
companies.
- Student members who formed lasting friendships with other students they
met at an IEEE student branch.
- Members who have "dirty" or even unusual engineering jobs, which might
include doing engineering for a subway/metro system, tunnel system,
something of that kind.
They are also looking for:
- Obituaries on members.
