TOPIC: Developing Relationships for Business Results

ABSTRACT: Your business success depends on it - whether you define a prospect as the department down the hall or a company across the country. Relationship development is the most effective form of business development, when it's done with sincerity, integrity and a positive attitude. And it's not just for sales types. Professionals across all functional areas can adapt the principles of relationship development to work smarter and generate new clients, new projects and new opportunities.

Elizabeth Usovicz, Vice President of Kessinger Consulting Associates, will discuss ways to align your business relationships and your business communications with your business objectives to achieve effective, efficient results.

LOCATION: Wyndam Garden Hotel NE corner of the intersection of Metcalf and I-435.

DIRECTIONS: Exit I-435 Metcalf Ave North. Go 1/4 km to 107th Street. Turn Right. Take immediate right @ AMOCO station. Go ~100 meters; the hotel is on your left.

COST: IEEE members & ICCA members: $20, student members: $15, nonmembers: $25. There will be an additional $5 late fee charged for walkins or late registration.

PDH’s: Those of us who are registered as Professional Engineers in Kansas, Iowa and South Dakota must accumulate thirty Professional Development Hours every two years in order to renew our P.E. registration. This event will earn attendees one PDH and certificates will be presented to all who make reservations by the deadline. This event is organized by the IEEE Consultants Network of the KC Section of IEEE. The meal cost is being subsidized by the Educational Activities Committee of the Kansas City Section.

About Our Speaker: Elizabeth Usovicz has more than 17 years of progressive management experience in strategic business development in the financial services, business training and information technology/E-commerce industries. Her expertise includes new market/customer development, sales strategy, strategic alliance development and product management in new venture, consulting and corporate environments.

Elizabeth is a principal consultant with Kessinger Consulting Associates (KCA), which helps early-stage companies and new ventures within established companies to generate revenue and grow their client bases. At KCA, she both develops new business and conducts consulting engagements for the firm's clients, which include resident and client companies of the Enterprise Center of Johnson County, a business accelerator funded by Johnson County and managed by KCA.

Prior to working with KCA, she was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for RecordsCenter, a venture capital-funded technology company providing Web-based applications to legal, investment banking and corporate marketplaces. Her background includes key positions with Deloitte, the National Investment Company Service Association and DST Output (a division of DST Systems).

Elizabeth serves on the Advisory Boards of several early-stage companies as well as on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association. She is also Immediate Past President of the Kansas City Plaza Rotary Club and Assistant Governor for Rotary District 6040. Fluent in Spanish and French, she has worked and lived in Latin America, the Far East and Europe.
