IEEE Computer Society, Kansas City Chapter

What is the Computer Society?

The Computer Society covers all major areas of computing and information technology including computer hardware, software development, multimedia, IT, security, networking, and mobile computing.

Among the many benefits, members get free access to:

  • Hundreds of online training courses for such things as Java, Cisco, XML, project management, and IT security (these are also areas covered in our dinner meeting presentations).
  • An extensive collection of online books on various technical topics.

You can find more info at www.computer.org.

Why a local chapter?

This affords local members the opportunity to meet, network, and socialize with their peers while enjoying local programs.

A side effect of this is a local officership is required and that provides resume-building opportunities, leadership experience, and the chance to influence what takes place in regard to the local chapter. The time commitment is less than many people think.
