• Speaker: Dr. Noel Shultz, Paslay Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Kansas State University
• Topic: Beyond Blackouts and Natural Disasters: Recovery and Advancements for A Smarter Grid for the Future.

Dr. Shultz has BSEE and MSEE degrees from Virginia Tech University and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. She taught at Mississippi State University, Michigan Tech, University of North Dakota and Virginia Tech prior to Kansas State. Her research interests are in computer applications in power systems including power systems operations, shipboard power systems and intelligent system applications.

She is active in the IEEE Power and Energy Society and is currently serving as the President-Elect for 2010-2011 and will serve as the President for 2012-2013.
