Program: Smart Grid! What is it really? Smart Grid is the term generally used to describe the integration of
the elements connected to the electrical grid with an information
infrastructure to offer numerous benefits for both the providers and
consumers of electricity. It is an intelligent future electricity system
that connects all supply, grid, and demand elements through an
intelligent communication system. This presentation will examine the
structure and elements of the current grid, the drivers for moving to a
smarter grid, and a proposed information and control architecture for
the realization of an end-to-end Smart Grid.
