Speaker: Jerry Stach
Bio: Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. His communications experience includes Bell Laboratories, Director of R&D at Sprint, and Vice President of Strategic Planning for LCI. He is currently working on the integration of Storage Networks into Wide Area Networks fabrics that include high speed data caches and extensions to the Fibre Channel Protocol.
Topic: Application of Artificial Life and Biological Computing to Search of Intractible Spaces
Program: To search intractible spaces such as the WWW, Library of Congress, or Genome Data Base, cognitive, mobile search agents must be employed to reduce the band limiting effect of massively distributed processes. Aspects of both Artificial Life and Biologic/Sociologic models of computation are being employed in year four of an ongoing federal grant to employ artificial life in massively distributed processes.
Also at this dinner: Floor nominations for open elected officer positions. This will take place toward the end of the dinner portion of the meeting. If you are not having the dinner, you can still participate in this portion. It will take only a few minutes.
