Section Meeting |
Thursday, February 17, 2000
Sponsored by the KC Chapter of the IEEE Computer Society
Please note: When you register by the deadline, you get a discount. If you register and don't cancel by the deadline, you are basically ordering a meal the Section must pay for. Thus, if we can't sell your spot to someone who did not register, we will bill you for that meal. The odds of reselling are poor, as nearly everyone registers by the deadline these days.

Program: The production capabilities of today's silicon systems houses are far outpacing their design infrastructure. While our ability to produce silicon systems is growing expo-nentially, our ability to simulate and analyze designs is growing sublinearly. The net result is that our capabilities for designing systems are being far outpaced by the complexity of systems we can construct. Contributing factors include the size of designs and the heterogeneity of subsystem technologies. Recognizing these issues, VHDL International is sponsoring an effort to develop a design language for representing and analyzing systems. The emerging language, Rosetta, supports representation and integration of systems level design models in a single design representation. This talk will present the issues surrounding systems level design and introduce basic Rosetta design principles.
Dinner reservation deadline is noon, Monday, Feb 14. Leave Sal Cerda a message at sal.cerda @mail.sprint.com or 913-534-2948 with your name, company name, and daytime ph#. A reservation gets you a discount on your dinner, and makes things easier all around.
