More Job Openings!
This came via a long chain of folks, including Fred Granville, Earl and Lisa at HUG KC, and Mark Ford at Garmin.

It's worth noting that Garmin has been an avid support of the various IEEE Society Chapters here in KC. It's also a company founded by, and run by, engineers.

Garmin is now looking for folks who could fill these positions:

  • Java Applications Developers.
  • Database Developers.
  • Software Quality Specialists.
  • Global Project Analyst.
  • Exchange Systems Administrators.
  • IT Compliance Manager.

If you know anyone who could fill such positions, have them:

  1. Post a resume at www.Garmin.com/careers.
  2. E-mail same to mark.ford @ garmin.com (paste into your e-mail client and remove the spaces). Let him know you are an IEEE member, and IEEE got its information from HUG KC.

Mark has graciously offered to help IEEE members move through the system. He'll alert the HR folks to watch for your resume.

Editor's note: There's a very good book called "Don't Send a Resume," and it explains why sending a resume is basically not an effective approach. However, when the hiring managers haven't come across people via personal contact, they then turn to HR. It is HR that relies on the resume approach (which makes sense for them, but not for you). This situation is precisely why Mark Ford is providing this extra help to IEEE members.  -- Mark L.

Thought for the Day
