The technical sessions, short courses, and student competitions are all arranged to provide a great interaction forum for people in industry and academia. There are many sessions planned with the intention of forming an over-arching bridge between various disciplines in state-of-the-art electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science research.

The committee is soliciting papers describing original unpublished research in all areas of electrical engineering, computer engineering and computer science, including theoretical, experimental, and commercial works. We are also encouraging participation of all other interested parties at this conference.

Send Us Your News

If you have information of interest to IEEE Kansas City Section members, please send that to the Publications Officer (writer @ ieee.org). Here are some examples of what we're looking for:

News pertaining to individual IEEE members of all grades, including students:

  • Obituaries
  • Awards, promotions, appointments, honors
  • Notable achievements
  • "Looking for work"--send a paragraph explaining what you do and how to reach you.

News to benefit other members

  • Technical seminars that are open to Section members
  • New courses
  • Job openings

There is no "deadline." Just send information as you get it, and the Publications Officer will add it to the next eNL (if the item is appropriate and if space permits--and space nearly always permits).

Send IEEE "The Institute" Your News

If you have information of interest to IEEE members everywhere, please send that to institute @ieee.org.

The Institute is looking for participants to interview for these story topics:

  • Recent graduates or GOLD members have who have started their own companies.
  • Student members who formed lasting friendships with other students they met at an IEEE student branch.
  • Members who have "dirty" or even unusual engineering jobs, which might include doing engineering for a subway/metro system, tunnel system, something of that kind.

They are also looking for:

  • Obituaries on members.
  • Recognitions that members receive such as promotions, appointments, awards, or honors from their community or government.
  • Recognition that members receive from an IEEE Society, such as an award.
  • Interesting jobs or hobbies for member profile pieces.
  • News about IEEE student members, student branches, student activities, and competitions.
  • New products, services, or activities that your society, section, region or student branch is offering.
  • Successful social or technical events or meetings.

Thought for the Day

Clarity during the planning stage eliminates many problems in the execution stage.
