1. April Dinner Meeting

Program: PCS (Cell-Phone) Handset Development and Testing.

Presenter: John Fessler, Principal Network Systems Engineer, Sprint.

John works at the Sprint Technology Integration Center, where he is the lead in acceptance testing of new Sprint handset designs. Sprint buys about $1B worth of handsets per year, for distribution around the country. His focus will be on CDMA radio-modem performance and interoperability. He will present some interesting aspects and experiences from this job, including
• Overview of the Sprint CDMA network and PCS business
• Handset Radio and Antenna Critical Performance Parameters
• Demonstration of Handset Radio Test (Agilent 8960)
• Destructive Testing Demonstration
• Questions and Answers
