| In late February, 2006, the IEEE
Kansas City Section will celebrate Engineering Week with another
outstanding conference hosted by PACE (Professional Activities Continuing
Education). This will be in Overland Park, KS. If you live in, say, Springfield, we will do our best to put you up in the home of a nearby IEEE member if you want to avoid hotel fees. The topic: Standards. No, this won't be a boring recital of text from standards. It will be a set of "no nodding off" presentations designed to help engineers more easily understand and work with the many standards that affect our work. PACE Chair Dave Kasper is sorting out the details for the venue. At this time, the date is 22FEB2006. That's the last Wednesday in February. Once Dave has the venue and the key speakers in place, he'll officially announce the date. Dave will also announce the program information well ahead of the event. At this date, there is time to contribute white papers or even recommend a speaker. Just contact pacechair @ ieee-kc.org (paste that into your e-mail client and remove the spaces). But, hurry! We will provide more details as this exciting, career-enhancing conference develops. |
