1. January Dinner Meeting Review

Take a look at these photos on the right. Go ahead, click them and see the full image of each one. What do you see?

If the old adage, "A picture is worth 1,000 words" has any validity, you can surmise from the intense look of interest and attention on the faces of these people that folks attending the January IEEE-KC dinner meeting were completely engrossed in the presentation. And with good reason: Denis P. Ferland was an outstanding speaker.

We apologize to those who missed this presentation, only to later hear all the superlatives about it. Our pre-event information could have been better. But then again, we have had one good program after another for quite a long time.  We're not going to start the year by letting you down.

As always, the food and fellowship are also big pluses. The Wyndham has a new chef who is determined to make a good showing, so expect some culinary delights in the months to come.

You can also expect outstanding programs and scintillating conversation, even if we don't give you much advance notice.

 7. Travel Document Service

This service offers "Access From Anywhere to Personal Information."

What happens if you're traveling abroad and lose your passport, or worse, get so sick you can't give the doctor a medical history? This is where a new document-storage service from the IEEE Financial Advantage Program can help. It stores copies of your important papers, including your medical records, for immediate transmission to wherever the information is needed.

 8. Thought for the Day

Methods and technology change, sometimes dramatically. For an example, just look at e-mail. Are you keeping up with technology so it works for you?

Wishing you the best,
